“Ferrets bite a lot, don’t they?” We often get asked. Once again, humans are responsible for much of this. Ferrets are used for hunting and then “recycled” as pets, with the expectation that they will immediately become gentle and playful companions. We have had a fantastic experience with them. We believe that they are very sociable animals that enjoy playing both with other ferrets and humans. They like to hide themselves and stash their “treasures”. They are a lot of fun.
Nevertheless, if you are unable to look after a ferret properly, or if you will get rid of it after one little bite (if they have been used for hunting or abused), please adopt an animal that you are more familiar with.
