“Reina” means queen in Spanish, and this pretty pony certainly rules the roost at our animal shelter.
Some years ago, a local police officer called our charity about an accident in which a mare had died.
Her foal was standing by her body, alone and frightened, on one of the busiest roads in Marbella.
As soon as Reina set hoof in our sanctuary, she was “adopted” by Concordia, the president of Every Horse in the World, who took over the role of her mother.
For four months, Reina was fed by us, her mother and aunty, every two hours, day and night, until she turned into a healthy and happy filly.
Nevertheless, foals die every day because their mothers are abandoned in the middle of nowhere or perilously close to roads.
No one worries about them being fed or receiving the veterinary care they require.
Please support us so we can help even more animals in need, not just the ones who are already living at our rescue centre. Please sponsor Reina.
