Caliza was a great competition mare.
She was fortunate enough to find a good home here at our animal shelter, but many other horses are not as lucky.
What happens to horses that were once winners?
As competition horses get older, they are usually sold over and over again to riders competing at lower levels. They eventually end up at a riding school going round and round in circles for hours on end or, worse still, in the hands of a dealer where they are treated like pieces of meat.
Please sponsor Caliza, she is a champion after all.
