Here at Every Horse in the World, we never stop believing in miracles. Soberano is one of these.
We rescued him in Cadiz, a province where we have found many animals over the years. We have rescued several “mule” horses there, i.e. horses that were used to transport drugs. These included horses with broken backs that were abandoned on the side of the road in Tarifa, ignored by everyone.
There are so many awful stories we will never be able to erase from our memory. Soberano must have been a very striking horse (and to us, he still is), but when his owners could no longer use and abuse him, they left him to starve to death.
Thankfully, an officer from the Civil Guard’s nature protection service SEPRONA informed us of the situation and we were able to bring Soberano home.
His injuries are permanent but we have spoken to him, and as long as he wishes to stay here at our animal shelter, playing with his friends Fumi and JJ, going for walks and being groomed, we will always be there to look after him. We will continue to spend whatever is necessary on vet and farrier bills, just as we would with any other member of our family.
Please help Soberano with his treatment. Become his sponsor.
